Shirdi is a town in the state of Maharashtra, in western India. It’s known as the former home of revered spiritual leader Sai Baba, and as a major pilgrimage site. Devotees gather daily at the Sai Baba Temple complex to honor his legacy. Here, the Samadhi Mandir shrine has an ornate marble statue of Sai Baba, alongside his tomb. Close by are Dwarkamai, a mosque where Sai Baba once lived, and tree-lined Lendi Garden.
Ideal Time to Visit : Shirdi is a popular pilgrimage site year-round, but the mild winter months (Dec–Feb) are a common time to visit. Summer (Mar–May) has hot days, with some very high temperatures. Monsoon season (Jun–Aug) brings the most rainfall. Every year, Hindus and Muslims come together to celebrate Ram Navami (Mar/Apr). Other major festivals include Guru Purnima (Jul), when devotees seek Sai Baba’s blessings, and Vijayadashami (Sep/Oct), which honors the day Sai Baba left his mortal body.
